Computer Science

With the increasing global prevalence of computer systems and networks has arisen a sustained, increasing demand for computer graduates who can analyze, design, and use computer hardware and software in environments ranging from small homogeneous systems of a few computers located in close proximity to very large, heterogeneous systems of computers networked over a widespread geographical area. This is the province of computer science.

Industrial Computing

Industrial computer technology prepares students to become capable of applying their acquired knowledge in the control, development, and design of modern computational strategies to increase process efficiency and effectiveness. The students are also provided with the necessary tools to design software programs to monitor and control computer driven machines and electronic equipment.

Systems Science

The Systems Science program specializes in those aspects that pertain to effectiveness of whole systems. In contrast to other sciences specialties which are grounded in certain aspects of science, system science is grounded primarily in mathematics and methodology.

Computer Communications

The Computer Communications major is an innovative and topical degree program of computer systems and communication networks. Through flexible elective courses, the curriculum offers unique access to a wealth of telecommunication network technological expertise in areas such as robotics, cognition, technology, and microelectronics, as well as complete offerings in all areas of telecommunications ranging from policy to protocols and software and hardware. Software Engineering

The BS Degree in Software Engineering gives students a rigorous training in the computer software field. The Degree requires students to combine knowledge of software design and development with an understanding of engineering systems. Program is designed for students who do not plan to work as professional engineers, and want a customized education which combines software technology with engineering systems in a manner unique to their career goals.

Economic and Financial Systems

This Program offers an integrative major in Business, Engineering and Arts. It responds to a widely expressed need to bring to abstract study of economics, the applied dimension of financial operations within a systems science framework. In so doing, the student learns how in the business environment financial functions respond to and initiate economic activity within using operating systems of an organization. In so going the systems application makes finance the engineering field for economics.

The purpose of this interdisciplinary program is to provide the breadth necessary to address the complex nature of environmental issues in the 21st century, as well as the depth to develop specific expertise in environmental restoration and protection. The program prepares professionals to work within an interdisciplinary framework to reclaim and preserve environmental quality. This systems approach brings together physical and biological sciences, economics, social sciences, with other arts and sciences disciplines in planning, health care and the law.

The health care systems program focuses on the management, financing and economics of the health services sector. Students learn about those factors that significantly influence a health care system, including government regulation and the changing role of health professionals. Students are provided with a variety of tools and perspectives to understand and analyze significant policy and management issues in this complex, socially important industry. Students planning a career in health care management or policy, clinical medicine, nursing or dentistry have found the concentration to be very useful preparation.

Transportation Systems

The transportation systems program acquaints students with the total distribution process of goods: location of source materials, production and distribution facilities and inventory of raw materials and final products. Courses also address issues related to passenger transportation. The program examines the different modes of transportation and methods of forecasting transportation needs. Students with this background have been offered positions with transportation agencies, shippers and receivers of goods and public organizations.
