There is a common first semester for full-time students.
Requirements for completing the major
are as follows:
- Students are required to have completed or be currently studying the foundation units
before enrolling in second year courses.
- The student must have first semester sophomore standing.
- Seven courses are a required core which all fine Arts majors must take
- Three Art History courses are also required
- Concentrations are available for Fine
Arts Major in:
- Painting
- Sculpture
- Public art
- Photography
- During the Senior year a Fine Arts Major will take the two Senior Seminars.
- The senior year culminates in a Senior Thesis Exhibition for the Senior Majors completing their Seminar and
Project Research.
- The student's cumulative GPA will be taken into account at the time of application. A
cumulative GPA of less than 2.0 is considered beneath the standard for admission to major.
- Fourteen courses make up the minimum requirement for the major.
